Living Stone’s Core Beliefs
Living Stone Community Church is held up by four main pillars of truth:
Living- We believe the Bible is the very Word of God, and is living, active and applicable to every man, woman and child
(See Ephesians 6:17, Isaiah 34:16,55:11, Luke 11:28, Matthew 4:4, 2 Tim 3:16-17)
Stone- God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. His love and truth are the very cornerstone, the bedrock of Christendom.
(See 1 Peter 2:4-5, Heb 13:8, Malachi 3:6, James 1:17,Psalm 102:25-27, Psalm 33:11,2 Timothy 2:13)
Community- You are not created to go it alone. We believe Christians should live in community with both each other and the community in which God has placed them. We are here for the East Valley of Phoenix.
(See 1 Thessalonians 5:14, Colossians 3:13, Galatians 6:2, James 5:16, Proverbs 17:17, 27:17, Matthew 18:20, Romans 12:16)
Church- The Church is not a building but God’s people set aside to do God’s work for God’s glory
(See Hebrews 10:24-25, Romans 12:5, Ephesians 2:19-22, Colossians 1:18, Ephesians 4:11-16)
Living Stone holds to a few doctrines that will influence our teaching and actions in distinctive ways.
The gospel of Jesus Christ radically reshapes every person's identity, motivations, and actions.
Every single Christian is equipped with the Spirit of God to accomplish the mission of God.
God saves people through Christ in order that they would go out, making disciples and starting churches.
God created men and women as equal and complementary image bearers of God.
Those doctrines will create a distinctive feel to everything Living Stone does as an organization.
We would refer those interested to read through the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 for a more in depth look at our theological commitments.
